“Who the hell you supposed to be? Red Riding Hood?!” Sabastian Blood scoffed.
The two other members of the Blood Gang, who were with him outside the remote hideout, snorted.
Thea Queen, wearing a red costume with a hooded cloak and a domino mask, grinned. “You’ve heard of the Red Arrow right?” Thea had her bow in hand, an arrow nooked but not drawn
The levity on Blood’s face was replaced with surprise. “You’re a woman?”
“Why are bad guys always surprised at that?” Thea sighed.
“Inherent sexism of the society we live in,” a voice said from behind Blood and his fellows. They half-turned and saw a masked woman all in black with vivid blonde hair and a big shiny gun holstered at her hip.
“We’re takin’ you in, dead or alive,” Thea drew back the bowstring.
Blood gave his men a glance. They debated their situation silently. Their hands hovered over their guns.
Red Arrow and Black Canary waited for them to make their choice.
Two heartbeats after Blood’s hand touched his weapon it was over.
Blood was on his back, and arrow through his hand that had made him lose his gun. A bullet wound in his opposite shoulder was leaking blood that soaked into his shirt.
His men were dead. Both shot through the head. One by bullet. One by arrow.
Laurel tugged off her mask as she approached Blood. “Shoulda chose alive,” she said and put him out of his misery with a final shot.
