She watches her every single day, seeing the same light shine in the beautiful, green eyes she used to make sparkle, seeing the same smile she used to adore on lips she can no longer kiss. Her heart aches to watch her, but Kitty can not tear her eyes away from her. She's every bit as beautiful as the woman she loved, but she isn't her woman. She isn't the Rachel she knew, the woman she loved and who kept her sane when the world was going crazy, the love she lost so Meggan could have her love back. She isn't hers to love; Kitty's heart breaks again every time she sees her.

Rachel watches Kitty when her eyes finally move from her every day. She knows she watches her, knows she thinks of the woman she loved before every time she sees her. She keeps waiting for that to no longer happen, for Kitty to no longer see another when she looks at her. The girl is beautiful, and she wants to mend her broken heart. She wants to fill her eyes with a merry light that shines only for her instead of the tears that too often well in them.

She wants to breathe life into her again, and love, and joy, and passion . . . But she can not bear to while Kitty still mourns another, even if that other woman wore her body. So Rachel waits, watches, and longs for Kitty to be with her in the present.

The End
